This one day workshop will kick off with an introduction to Zero Waste Design, from historical references to modern designers, methodology, and environmental context.
We will then dig into the explanation of the pattern, how to select your size, and how to lay it out on your fabric. (Approximate fabric length/width needed will be sent to participants in advance.)
Next we will cut the pattern layout in fabric and start garment construction and finishing.
Upon completion, participants will understand how to lay out and cut the selected zero waste pattern, as well as understand the concept of how to minimize waste in their pattern layouts.
Bring with you to class: your sewing machine, basic sewing supplies, buttons, interfacing, and 2 ½ yards of material.
